MEGHAN ROMAN is the founder and principal of Stonerose Advisors, a public relations consultancy for venture capital firms, Web businesses and technology companies.
During her career, Meghan has designed and implemented PR campaigns for more than 30 start-ups, global corporations, and venture capital firms. Now based in Washington DC, she spent more than a decade working with companies in Silicon Valley. Meghan has guided clients through every stage of growth and has led a number of companies through successful exits. Her clients have appeared in Bloomberg, CNBC, Financial Times, Forbes, TechCrunch and The Wall Street Journal, gained recognition in popular social media and across the Web.
At Stonerose, Meghan consults with New Atlantic Ventures, an early stage venture capital firm for entrepreneurs running ecommerce and digital media businesses. She has also represented Venrock, the venture capital firm founded by Laurance Rockefeller and Transonic Combustion, a Los Angeles-based automotive cleantech company.
Prior to starting Stonerose, Meghan spent four years as a communications director at Horn Group, a San Francisco and New York-based agency specializing in public relations, interactive design, and social media.
Previously, Meghan directed integrated marketing communications programs for HP, Adobe and Visa International at Burson-Marsteller. Earlier in her career she was with Applied Communications (acquired by UK-based Next Fifteen). There, Meghan was one of the first professionals involved in venture capital public relations, consulting with Crosspoint Venture Partners to promote the firm’s partners and early stage portfolio companies through a combination of investor relations, special events and press engagement. Also at Applied, Meghan represented PayPal, HP’s Linux division and Oracle’s applications business during their inception.
Meghan holds an MBA from the University of San Diego and a BSBA in Marketing and International Business, with a minor in Spanish, from Georgetown University.
